ACTi — Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACTi)

Acceptance Commitment Therapy is a third wave therapy that incorporates mindfulness, acceptance and cognitive defusion to change the relationship that individuals experience towards their thoughts and emotional experience.

Mindfulness Based Therapy for Insomnia (MBTi)

MBTI is helpful for patients to see their insomnia in a different way and to provide some tools to help them sleep better. Teaching mindfulness meditation can provide an opportunity to create the space they need to allow sleep to come back. Through meditation, patients with insomnia can learn from their own thoughts, feelings and sensations.

What to expect

Thorough assessment

In your assessment session, we will discuss your sleep history, your current and historical mental and physical health and your 24 hour day.

I will ask you to complete standardised measures to capture improvement.

Treatment

Treatment for Insomnia and other sleep disorders is generally quite short term. Some people will see significant improvements in as little as 3-4 sessions.

Online sessions

All sessions will take place over the phone or through Microsoft Teams. It is free to use, no download is required and is HIPAA compliant.
